October 19, 2022 Homework Accelerando

Incredible work so far!  I am so proud of our progress- keep up the good work.

 

Classic Christmas Medley:

Spend these next two weeks getting comfortable with this new piece!  A good goal is to be able to play along with the recording.

Violin 1– anytime there are optional small notes, our section will split with half of us playing the top notes and half playing the bottom notes

Top: Jace, Savannah, Daniel, Reese, Lena

Bottom: Andrew, Areli, Ethan, Eddie, Evangeline, Evan

For our other pieces, focus on sections that you are uncomfortable with.  Work on 8 measures or so at a time and focus on details such as rests, dynamics, intonation, etc.  In addition, below are specific sections that I would like each section to focus on.

Violin 1

• Snowy Woods: mm. 21-41
• Beyond the Thunder: mm. 62-end
• Accent on the Classics: mm. 15-22, 46-54, 70-77

Violin 2

• Snowy Woods: mm. 5-24, 33-41
• Beyond the Thunder: mm. 13-28, 37-49, 62-end
• Accent on the Classics: mm. 15-22, 61-77

Viola:

• Snowy Woods: mm. 13-24
• Beyond the Thunder: mm. 37-49, 62-end
• Accent on the Classics: mm. 61-69

Cello

• Snow Day: mm. 10-17
• Snowy Woods: mm. 25-41
• Beyond the Thunder: mm. 29-32

Below is the theory homework for this week.  If you did not get it in class today, use the link below (unless you have a theory book) to print it out and complete it. Bring it to class next week and turn it into the white bin at the front of the class.
