March 8, 2023 Homework Sinfonia Allegro

WELCOME to SINFONIA ALLEGRO!!

Monster Mambo:

Beginning to downbeat of 37 should be learned and polished!

Practice measure 36 (36 & 28 for cell0)

Count yourself in, use a metronome.

Cello/bass SNIFF! It’s only an 8th note so it must be short!

️️Learn 37-53

Play SLOWLY and carefully to make sure you are playing with low 1s (B flats & F naturals) and low 2s (G naturals, C naturals, F naturals and B flats)

Planets:

Practice col legno to arco with a metronome!

Outside players: drop out of col legno early, be ready for arco section

Inside players: play through col legno section, enter into arco entrance when you can

In the slower melody, all strings should play “dreamily” (thanks Ethan). No bow stopping! Very smooth bow changes.

Remember to play super softly!
