From Mrs. Erika:
Continue to work on the violin hold: Focus on tucking the chin and looking to the left towards the scroll. Try to hold this for 2 twinkle variations at least. If they can do more then go for it! See if they can balance a stuffed animal on their head or an eraser on top of their violin to make sure their posture is perfect.
Bow Hold: Continue the Circle game (drop erasers/small toys/beans through the hold the bow hand creates when the thumb is bent. If they do this well without the bow, try with the bow hold (thumb should still be bent)
Bow Arm Exercises:
-Handshake w/ Mississippi Hot Dog (try to sing through the whole Twinkle with this)
-Arm Scrubs: Make sure you start from the elbow and scrub down to wrist. Older students can do this by themselves, younger students may need help moving their arms correctly. SIng the Song:
Dirty Doggy Scrub Scrub
Put Him in the Tub Tub
Dirty Doggy Scrub Scrub.
Shoulder Bowing (with good bow hold!): Try to do this while singing Twinkle with the Mississippi Hot Dog Rhythm.
