November 8, 2023 Homework Accelerando

Welcome Accelerando!

Scale: Practice your A major scale every day. Sheet Music is Attached for those who need reminders.

Violins & Violas remember High 3s!
Cellos remember 2nd finger stretches and pushes the other fingers up
Only 3 rehearsals until the concert! Now is the time to practice hard to work out any difficult spots you still are having trouble with.
Scale: A Major. Practice every day with long notes listening carefully for intonation. We need to be playing high3s/high4s more to get used to them.
Barcarolle: This is going better but still needs a lot of attention. Next week we will run it ready or not.
I HIGHLY suggest  practicing along with the recording.
Put it on a loud speaker or put in wireless headphones to help you hear it better as you play along. This is the best thing you can do to start feeling more confident about the rhythm and timing
In Addition:
1) Please practice anything that requires you to count for more than 1 beat, especially tied notes and long notes. Just a reminder that a whole rest in 3/4 is only 3 beats.
2)Practice also anything that requires you to play high 3/high 4, and low 1.
3) Practice slurs, especially when they happen at the same time as difficult counting notes (e..g the long or tied notes) or the high 3/high 4s and low 1s.
Brave Fires: This is going great for the most part! It is still a little shaky at 26, so please review your rhythms here
Cripple Creek and Russian Dance: They are also going well, but make sure you do not rush. That is the biggest danger of these ones.
