November 15, 2023 Homework Accelerando
Welcome Accelerando!
Happy Thanksgiving!
No classes November 22.
We resume November 29 at TRBC.
Scale: Practice your A major scale every day. Sheet Music is Attached for those who need reminders.
Violins & Violas remember High 3s!
Cellos remember 2nd finger stretches and pushes the other fingers up
Only 3 rehearsals until the concert! Now is the time to practice hard to work out any difficult spots you still are having trouble with.
Scale: A Major. Practice every day with long notes listening carefully for intonation. We need to be playing high3s/high4s more to get used to them.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I know this week can be a little chaotic especially if you are traveling but try your best to get practice in. Remember, listening to recordings counts as practice 🙂
A Major Scale: Practice every day. Once you are good at it slow, try it a littel faster. We want to get even more comfy with C# and G#
Cripple Creek: Practice with a metronome or recording. The pizz tends to be rushed. When you have the melody play louder, when you have anything else, play softer
Nutcracker: Practice our new dynamics and exaggerate them. When you have melody play louder, when you have anything else, play softer
Brave Fires: More attention to dynamics. You all are sounding great on this but its been all one dynamic so far. Lets make it exciting!
Barcarolle: Listen to the recording every day. You all are doing much better with this but it is still a little unstable. I suggest also practicing along with the recording (use a loud speaker or headphones to help you hear the recording better).
Watch out for C# and G#, and anything longer than a half note should be counted VERY carefully.
