A lot of us get rusty after a long break, so don’t assume something is going to be correct now just because it was before the break.
Violin Hold: Make sure it is to the left, and the chin is tucked
Bow hold: Right hand, and make sure pinky and thumb are bent. Bonus points if the hand can be soft (“marshmallow hands”)
A and E string concerto (focus on keeping the bow straight and putting more weight on the string)
Monkey Song: make sure they still touch the “magic x” to the violin on their left hand.
Review Twinkle Mississppi Hot Dog
Review Twinkle Theme (warm up with open E fast and slow bows first)
Parents that are guiding fingers should be careful that the wrist stays straight (no “pizza man wrist” or “Pancake wrist”) and that the fingers are rounded, creating an arch shape.
